Torrans bungalow was a new build in 2000 and was
available for letting for the first time at Easter, 2001. It is the third house
to have been built on this site.
The original farm house famously woke up it's
occupants in the middle of the night in the 1950's as it's gable end fell
out. "You could see the stars through where the wall was", I was told.
We do not expect this to happen to this house.
We have had nothing but good reports so
far and everyone, without exception, comments on the fine views from the house.
It is situated a couple of hundred metres up a farm road, 50 metres above the
main road to Iona not far from the ruins of an old flax mill.
Accommodation comprises a double room (with
en-suite), a twin room and a single room. A z-bed and a cot are also available.
All bed linen and duvets are provided.
The kitchen has an electric cooker, a
washing machine, a tumble drier, a fridge, a freezer and a microwave.
The large, open plan sitting and
dining area has a T.V. which receives a Sky signal for all BBC TV and radio
stations as well as various other channels. There is a wood burning stove for
which firewood is provided. Heating in the rest of the house is by storage
heaters.
