Beach Bridge cottage is situated halfway
between Pennyghael and Bunessan. It overlooks the small estuary of the
Beach (pronounced Bay-ach) river. It was built in the early 1970's as a
home for the retiring shepherd, Johnnie Dubh (Dubh is the gaelic word for black
- Johnnie's hair was apparently, very)
It was
renovated in 1991 and comprises a double room, a twin room and a single room.
All bed linen and duvets are provided
In the kitchen cooking is electric. There is a
washer/drier, a fridge, a freezer and a microwave
Heating is with storage heaters throughout and there
is also an open fire for which firewood is provided.
The sitting room has a T.V.and video for video
playback only. There is also an F.M. radio/cassette player. We do not get T.V.
reception here but with the large picture window overlooking Loch Scridain to
Ben More beyond you probably won't miss it.
